NEWSLETTER FOR MAY
MAYS MEETING AT BLUEBERRY
HILL RV RESORT

There we were again enjoying our Motor Homes, Fifth Wheel Campers and Travel Trailers, then finding ourselves at
one location together at Blueberry Hill in Bushnell, Florida.  Thanks to our lustrous Wagon Master, Bob Stewart we
were all parked next to each other on 20 May2010.  On a personnel note, “Boy, he does a “Great Job” “.  Thanks Bob for
all you and your trusty assistant Judy, do in making sure we are well informed about the many campgrounds that we
visit.  You’re diligent efforts do not go unnoticed.
As a point of information Thursday evening, after we all had our camper setup and all of the greeting accomplished, all
adjourned to “Beef O’Grady” for a delicious dinner.
After returning to the camp ground several members went to the activity building for a few hands of card and catch up
conversation, as if we did not get it all completed at the restaurant, but then again “We humans never run out of
“Conversation”.
Friday morning (starting at our usual time, about 8:30 AM) most of our chapter enjoyed breakfast at the Hoelscher RV.
A few of the member bring breakfast items to share so we have a well rounded menu without the cost falling on any
one person’s shoulder.  Breakfast completed and the cleanup done it was time to round out our morning with, “You
guessed it” most of the ladies went shopping while the rest played games in the activity building out of the heat that
had started to escalate outside.  The temperature spiked out at 96 Degrees in the shade of our camper awning.
At noon Friday several more members came over to the activity building and started more games.  Then around 4:00
all games had ceased and preparations for the evening meal commenced.
The Pot Luck dinner started about 5 PM. Hosted by Ralph & Jane Reeves and Judy & Bob Stewart.  Ralph prepared a
very succulent Meat Loaf.  Most of the other ladies filled in with all of the trimmings plus several delicious deserts.
After the dinner, it was again time for more games and fellowship.
Saturday morning started with a well rounded breakfast in the activity building which started about 08:30.  Again
everyone enjoyed themselves and if anyone was hungry after it was all over, it was their own fault.
With the breakfast items put away, our portion of the area was setup to accommodate our chapter meeting.  The
chapter President, Charles Hoelscher rapped the gavel about 09:35 AM and requested Joe Weston to give the
Invocation and led the chapter in the Pledge of Allegiance to our flag (in an old and honored tradition).  Charlie
introduced Barry & Adriana Smith again.  They had visited the chapter in February and voiced their desire to join our
chapter.  As a point of information; Barry and Adriana’s work schedule prevents them from attending regularly.  This
being the second visit they were voted in with no objections.  The floor was opened for New Business, Joe Weston
informed us that there was only a limited amount of camp sites left if anyone wanted to attend the Fall Samboree, they
should get their applications in today.  Bob and Reba Ward would be visiting in the afternoon and the applications
could be handed to him today.  The wagon Master stated we had 17 rigs present.  The September campout is scheduled
to return to Blueberry Hill.  Due to a slight conflict in scheduling, Bob ask if our campout for April could be moved to the
second week. There were no objections.
Charlie stated, during the Fall Samboree at Wekiva Falls RV Resort all couples that would be celebrating their 50th
Wedding Anniversary during the year 2011would be honored.  The campout in September will be hosted by; Jenova &
Charles Hoelscher and Joann & Morris Durrance.  Charlie asks that each family contact the host family two weeks prior
to the campout to coordinate what food items you are willing to bring.
The 50/50 drawing brought in $ 97.00 and Kay Williams was the lucky winner of $ 48.00, congratulations to Kay.
After the meeting several couples remained there for games and enjoyed the fellowship of everyone.  All of that
lasted until about 12:00 Noon.
Around 1:00 PM I looked out the door and observed most of our ladies almost marching toward the activity building,
snacks in hand.  The guys were bringing up the rear with various types of beverages.  Mildred Beck brought in her
large double blender full of Mud Slide Beverage, a Smooth Drink and Good to the Last Drop.  We all enjoyed the
Cocktails and Goodies.
The RV Park was celebrating their Grand Opening after being sold to a larger cooperation and being under new
management.  Several venders were present along with Lazy days RV Sales.  The park was serving an evening meal of
Bar-B-Q, Hot Dogs & Hamburgers for $13.00 per person.  Bob Stewart had been informed earlier that the evening meal
would be furnished free.
None of our group had dinner there.  The entire club went to the “Harbor Light Restaurant” for dinner.
The park, using NASCAR as their theme in conjunction with their sponsorship of a couple of NASCAR Cars, had erected
an open ended tent out on the lawn.  A large 9 ft. projection TV screen had been erected inside the tent.  Bleachers
were placed just outside the tent.  All of this was done so the campers could view the Championship NASCAR Race
Saturday night.
Saturday night was a mix of activity, there were games inside the activity building, watching the race outside or
staying in their campers.  A few watched the races inside their campers where it was cooler and more comfortable.
Sunday morning was very simple with a continental style breakfast and “warm goodbyes”
