LAKE EOLA GOOD SAMS CHAPTER 68
MINUTES OF THE MEETING SEPTEMBER 17, 2011 (CORRECTED)
President Charlie Hoelscher called the meeting to order at 9:27 AM on Saturday,
September 17, 2011 at the Lazy Days RV Resort in Seffner, Florida.
Chuck Blanchard opened the meeting with a prayer. The Pledge of Allegiance
was then given.
Roll call indicated 15 members present with one drive-in. A quorum was present.
The minutes of the May 2011 meeting were approved as published. Gail
Dreeves moved to accept, Judy Stewart seconded the motion.
The Treasurers report was given by Phylis Hagar:
Beginning balance: $2608.92
Expenditures 536.17
Donation 480.00
Income 862.00 (Raffle at spring Samboree)
Ending balance $2515.75
Ralph Reeves moved to accept the report, Scotty Smithwick seconded the motion.
State Committee: Joe Weston was not present.
Wagonmaster: Bob Stewart: Reminded us that the next campout in October will
be at the Ocala Sun resort and reservations must be made by October 1.
Historian: Jenova Hoelscher: She is resigning the post and another Historian
is needed. There were no volunteers.
Newsletter: Paul Beck: No report, he was absent.
Webmaster: Don Harper: Nothing to report.
Hosts: Fran Blanchet, Linda Woodward: They presented a table bouquet to
Maria, of the Lazy Days staff, for her assistance in the campout.
Sports: Ralph Reeves: Tee shirts with the chapter logo are ordered and are
expected shortly.
Correspondance: Received thank you notes from Ronald McDonald house and
the Ashtatula Food Bank. A letter was received from Joe Weston, ASD,
announcing his candidacy for State Director and asking for support.
Old Business:
We are committed to provide stage decorations for the November Samboree.
There was some discussion, however, the President did not appoint a chairman,
so there is little being done.
New Business:
An audit of the Treasurers records is needed. Nancy Harper and Gail Dreeves
were appointed to complete the task.
Earl Howe and Lucy Florence were appointed to the nominating committee. Earl
reported that the positions of Secretary and Historian were still open.
J.B. Hagar thanked the chapter for the thank you cards and good wishes for his
mother.
The Secretary announced an update to the roster was planned and asked all to
review their information.
A raffle will be held at the next Samboree. The wagon is being donated by
Morris Durrance. Joan Cotter was appointed as Chairman for the raffle.
Phylis Hagar distributed CDs of the musical presentation made at the May
Samboree.
Scotty Smithwick moved to adjourn, with Jenova Hoelscher seconding.
The 50/50 was won by Earl Howe for $66.
