LAKE EOLA GOOD SAMS CHAPTER 68
MINUTES OF THE MEETING OCTOBER 22, 2011

President Charlie Hoelscher called the meeting to order at 9:52 AM on
Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the Ocala Sun RV Resort, Bellvue, FL.

Bill Catron opened the meeting with a prayer.   The Pledge of
Allegiance was then given by the chapter.

Roll call indicated 15 members present with two drive-ins.    A quorum
was present.

The minutes of the September 2011 meeting were corrected and then
approved.  Jim Coffman moved to accept,  Ralph Reeves seconded
the motion.

The Treasurers report was given by Phylis Hagar:
     Beginning balance:       $2515.75
     Expenditures                     164.31
     Income                                63.00      
     Ending balance             $2414.44

A discussion of the escrow account followed the Treasurers Report.    It
is not a separate bank account and represents $20.00 per rig.   Chris
Catron and JoAnn Durrance were appointed to review the escrow
account with the Treasurer.

State Committee:   Joe and Debbie Weston:  The November
Samboree is being set up at Southern Palms RV Resort in Eustis.   
There will be full hookups, sites are grass.    We will be placed across
the road from the Rally on the south side of CR 44.    It was also
announced that the stage does not have to be disassembled.

Wagonmaster:  Bob Stewart:  Contracts for 2012 are being prepared
and a final schedule for the year is not quite ready.  Hosts are needed.

The December meeting will be at Blueberry Hill.    Reservations are
required by each member 15 days in advance (Dec 1).    

Bill Catron suggested that we might select 2-3 campgrounds and rotate
between them to reduce the work being done by the Wagonmaster.    
There was no vote.

Historian:   Nancy Harper/Chet Florance:    These are our new
historians.

Newsletter:  Paul Beck:  No report.

Webmaster:  Don Harper:  Nothing to report.

Sunshine Lady: JoAnn Durrance:  Nothing to report.

Sports:  Ralph Reeves:   Tee shirts with the chapter logo have arrived
and will be distributed.

Old Business:
We are committed to provide stage decorations for the November
Samboree.    There was some discussion, and several members are
gathering hay, cornshucks, etc.   The following were reported:
     Bill Catron – hay or straw bales
     Morris and JoAnn Durrance – flowers, corn stalks
     Maureen Southwick – Scarecrow, turkey, wreath, gourds
Joan Cotter volunteered to run the raffle wagon.    She is looking for a
$10 donation from each rig.   Morris Durrance is donating the wagon.

Morris Durrance will coordinate meals while at the Samboree.

Paul Beck is very ill.   Mildred Beck requested donations be made to
Hospice and that all email be addressed to her as Paul cannot access
them now.    He will be buried in Pensacola with full military honors.   A
memorial service will be held later in Leesburg.    Bill Catron suggested
that we plan to attend as a group wearing our chapter shirts.

New Business:
Jack and Carol Cummiskey and Earl and Mary Howe have resigned
from the chapter.

Candidates for Chapter offices were announced by Lucy Florance:
     Kay Williams – Secretary
     Morris Durrance – President
     Chris Catron – Vice President
     Phylis Hagar – Treasurer
Voting is in November.

The wagonmaster was given a bag of old patches from Howard and
Roxie Ferguson.   Anyone needing an old badge should see him.

Birthdays were recognized for October:   Mike Lancaster, Joe Weston,
Maureen Smithwick

Bill Catron moved to adjourn, with Ralph Reeves seconding at 10:52
AM.


The 50/50 was won by Judy Stewart for $39.
