LAKE EOLA GOOD SAMS CHAPTER 68
MINUTES OF THE MEETING May 7, 2011
President Charlie Hoelscher called the meeting to order at 1:05 PM
on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the Okeechobee KOA Resort,
Okeechobee, FL, at the Spring Samboree.
Bill Catron opened the meeting with a prayer. The Pledge of
Allegiance was then recited by the chapter.
Roll call indicated 21 members present plus 1 visitor, Muriel
Langevin. Only 2 absences.
The Minutes of the April 16 meeting were read. No additions or
corrections were made. Paul Beck moved to accept the minutes,
Jim Coffman seconded the motion. Motion was passed.
The Treasurers Report was given:
Beginning balance $2652.86
Expenditures 116.94
Deposits 73.00
Ending balance $2608.92
A motion was made by Gale Dreves to accept the report. JoAnn
Durrance seconded the motion. Motion was passed.
State Committee: Joe Weston, ASD, reported on the state
committee meeting. The November 2011 Samboree will be held at
Southern Palms in Eustis. The chapter volunteered to provide the
stage decorations with Phylis Hager making the motion and Gale
Dreves seconding. The motion was passed.
The stage is 12’ x 24’, in the Fairground building, all decorations
must be portable. The theme is Thanksgiving.
Southern Palms has 400 sites with 60 sites having 30 Amp service,
the remainder 30/50 Amp service. All sites have water, sewer, and
cable hookups.
The February Samboree will be at Rodehaver Boys Ranch in
Palatka.
Joe congratulated the chapter on the entertainment show we put
on at this Samboree. Gale Dreves moved to send a $25 check to
the lighting technician. Paul Beck seconded the motion, and the
motion passed. Charlie Hoelscher will deliver the check.

New Business –
Ralph Reeves proposed the chapter adopt a new shirt, primarily for
games at the Samborees with the chapter logo.. Gale Dreves
moved to adopt a lime green shirt, with individuals paying for their
shirt. Phylis Hager seconded the motion which was passed.
Bill Catron moved that the chapter pay for a silkscreen logo
pattern. Jim Coffman seconded the motion, which was passed.
Charlie Hoelscher appointed Ralph Reeves as Sports Director to
organize sports and the shirts.
This was the last meeting for Bob and Donna Tobin who are
moving to Williamsburg, VA.
Jim Coffman moved to adjourn, Mildred Beck seconded the motion,
which passed.
The 50/50 was won by Pattie Lancaster for $60.
