New Business: Charlie asked Reba Ward to tell everyone about Chapters volunteering at the
Samboree’s; she explained the various volunteer jobs still open. One of them was to hand out the
Door Prizes from 9:00 to 11:00 each morning and 1:00 to 3:00 each afternoon; everyone agreed that
we could do that. Charlie gave a Volunteer Form to Judy Stewart to fill out and give it to Reba after
the meeting. Charlie brought up the subject of meals at the Samboree, last month the women stated
that they didn’t want to cook this time; that we should go out. Charlie suggested that the men could
cook one meal on Saturday, possibly hamburger & hot dogs (with the Chapter paying for the entree),
Leo Woodward would coordinate. Charlie and Morris volunteered to check out places to eat since
there aren’t that many in Okeechobee. Chris Catron said that several times she had been asked who
was the President’s wife and she made a motion that we get a name tag for the “First Lady”,
everyone agreed and the Chapter will get the new name tag at the Okeechobee Samboree. It was
pointed out that the Decaf coffee pot wasn’t working, after a brief discussion on whether to buy a
new one or have the old one repaired; Mildred Beck volunteered to donate a coffee pot to the
Chapter. Charlie said that Scotty & Maureen Southwick were now eligible to become members of our
Chapter. Leo Woodward made a motion that we bring them into our Chapter as new members, Joann
Durrance seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous. Welcome!
