LAKE EOLA GOOD SAM’S CHAPTER 68
MINUTES FOR DECEMBER 19, 2009

President Earl Howe called the meeting to order at 10:02 A.M. on Saturday, December 19, 2009
at Ocala Sun Resort in Bellevue, Florida.
Chaplain Bill Catron opened the meeting with a prayer, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.  
The Roll Call indicated we had 17 rigs, which includes 3 visiting rigs, Carol DuBeau, John &
Kay Willliams and Jack & Carol Cummiskey.
Earl Howe introduced visitors, Carol DuBeau, John & Kay Williams (both are former members
of our Chapter) and Jack & Carol Cummiskey and said that they all want to join/come back into
our Chapter.  Joe & Debbie Watson, our ASD’s, were also present.

Minutes of Last Meeting (Secretary):  Judy Stewart asked if there were any corrections or
revisions to the November minutes.  As there were no revisions or corrections, the minutes
stand as written.  Bill Catron made a motion that we accept the minutes as written and Joann
Durrance seconded the motion.  December minutes will be distributed to all members for
review prior next month’s meeting.

Treasurer’s Report:  Earl Howe advised that the Chapter made $512 from the raffle of the
wheelbarrow of food at the Wekiva Falls Samboree, with $300 going to Dogs for the Deaf,
$69.64 for cost of wheelbarrow and $24.61 for sign, leaving $117.75 going to the treasury.  Earl
also thanked Chris Catron, Joann Durrance and Phylis Hager for their hard work in
coordinating the collection of items to go into the wheelbarrow and scheduling volunteers to
sell the raffle tickets during the Samboree.  Earl also said that Jack Cummiskey had won the
wheelbarrel of food and then donated the food to charity and the wheelbarrel to Morris
Durrance.  Bob Tobin then reported that the balance as of the end of November was
$1,859.60, which includes the escrow fund.  Bob Stewart made a motion to accept the
treasurer’s report and was seconded by Paul Beck.

Committee Reports:  
Howard Ferguson, Wagon Master, Howard reminded everyone that the January camp out will
be at Wekiva Falls Resort in Sorrento, Florida with Jim/Anita Coffman and Ralph/Jane Reeves
as hosts.  If you’re planning to attend, please contact the hosts to see what you can bring for
Saturday night’s dinner.
Don Harper, Web Master, Don reported that he had set up a separate page for Recipes on the
website, please check it out.  He also asked if anyone would like the Minutes to be posted on
the website, as well as emailed.  After a discussion, Jim Coffman made a motion that the
minutes be posted on the website and Ralph Reeves seconded the motion.
Paul Beck, Newsletter Editor, If you have anything put in the newsletter, please let me know.
Jenova Hoelscher, Historian, Jenova reported that she had set up a new book and it was on
the table for everyone to look at.
Chris Catron, Sunshine Lady, Chris said that no cards had been sent.  If anyone wants a card
sent to let her know.

Correspondence:
Received letter from Astatula Worship Center thanking the Chapter for the food donation.
Received brochure from Homeland RV Club in Georgia advertising their facilities.

Old Business:  Earl Howe reported that Joan Cotter and Chet Florence had audited the
Treasurer’s book and that it balanced with the bank.


New Business:  Earl advised everyone that Carol DuBeau and John & Kay Williams want to
come back into the Chapter, but that requires the approval of the Executive Committee.  The
Executive Committee met and unanimously voted that they be allowed to come back into the
Chapter.  Mike Stallings made a motion to bring Jack and Carol Cummiskey into our Chapter
as new member and to bring Carol DuBeau and John & Kay Williams back into the Chapter,
Leo Woodward seconded motion.  The vote was unanimous.  Everyone welcomed them to the
Chapter.  Earl thanked Bill Catron for getting the new Bulletin Board.  Bill Catron said that they
had already purchased the new wagon for the raffle at next Samboree.  Roxie Ferguson
advised that this would be their last meeting that she and Howard had decided to resign from
the Chapter due to illnesses.  Bill Catron said that both Roxie and Howard were always right
there to volunteer or offer to help wherever they were needed and he wanted to thank them
for all their hard work for the benefit of the Chapter.  Earl Howe presented Certificates of
Appreciation to Roxie Ferguson-Newsletter Editor, Howard Ferguson-Wagonmaster, Chris
Catron-Historian, Mary Howe-Sunshine Lady and Charlie Hoelscher-Vice-President and
thanked them for their hard work.  Earl stated that anyone interested in attending the
Samboree in Dunnelleon to send in their registrations as soon as possible.  Anita Coffman
thanked everyone for their cards, phone calls and prayers.  Bob Stewart said that if anyone
was interested in buying shirts, caps, or patches to see him after the meeting.

Birthdays/Anniversaries:  We wished Happy Birthday to Bob Tobin, Carol DuBeau, Howard
Ferguson and Chris Catron.  We also wished Happy Anniversary to Paul & Mildred Beck and
Earl & Mary Howe.

Joe and Debbie Watson, ASD’s, conducted the swearing-in ceremony to install the new
officers for 2010:  President - Charlie Hoelscher, Vice-President – Morris Durrance; Secretary
– Judy Stewart, Treasurer – Bob Tobin and Wagonmaster – Bob Stewart.  Joe Watson also
thanked the Chapter for inviting he and Debbie to share our meals with them at the
Samboree, it really meant a lot to them.

Chet Florence, Howard Ferguson and Jim Coffman presented Earl Howe with a plaque for
Past President and thanked him for his dedication and hard work as President.

Jim Coffman made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Bill Catron seconded it.  The meeting
was adjourned at 10:50 A.M.
