LAKE EOLA GOOD SAMS CHAPTER 68
MINUTES OF THE MEETING APRIL 16, 2011

President Charlie Hoelscher called the meeting to order at 9:29 AM
on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Grand Lake RV Resort, Orange Lake,
Florida.

Bill Catron opened the meeting with a prayer.   The Pledge of
Allegiance was then recited by the chapter.

Roll call indicated 20 members present plus 1 visitor, Muriel
Langevin.

The minutes of the March 2011 meeting were presented.  No
additions or corrections were made.   Bill Catron moved to accept
the minutes, Paul Beck seconded the motion.  Motion was passed.

The Treasurers report for March was given by Phylis Hager:
  Beginning balance        $2697.55
  Expenditures                    100.69
  Deposits                             56.00
  Ending balance              2652.86
A motion was made by Jim Coffman to accept the report, Ralph
Reeves seconded.   Motion passed.

State Committee:  Debbie Weston, ASD.     The contract with
Southern Palms for the November 2011 Samboree was being
reviewed and the Fall Samboree will probably be there.   The Spring
Samboree at Okeechobee was almost sold out.

Samboree Entertainment:   Scotty Smithwick.    A partial rehearsal
will be held today at 1:30 to finalize timings.  Scotty also announced
that Maureen will sing after Saturday dinner at 6:30.

Wagonmaster:    Bob Stewart.    The Spring Samboree will be held
May 3 – 8 at the Okeechobee KOA, 4276 Highway 441 South,
Okeechobee 34974.   Telephone 863-763-0131.

The September campout will be September 15-18 at Lazy Days RV
Resort, 6210 CR 579, Seffner, 33584.   Telephone 800-905-6622.    
Take I-4, exit 10, CR 579.   You must make your own reservations 15
days in advance (by Sept 1).

Webmaster:  Don Harper.   Nothing to report.

Newsletter:   Paul Beck   Nothing to report.

Historians.  Jenova Hoelscher/Chris Catron   Nothing to report.

Wagon Raffle.   Jenova Hoelscher/Chris Catron  They want food
items, kitchen and bath accessories, tools (a little bit of
everything).    If you cannot donate, please send them $15 and they
will purchase items for the wagon.    It was suggested by the
President that we donate part of the proceeds to the Children’s
Ranch in Okeechobee.   Paul Beck made a motion that we do so
with Ralph Reeves seconding.   Motion was passed.

Sunshine Lady  JoAnn Durrance   Reported that Jim and Kay
Williams sister had passed away yesterday.

Old Business:   Nothing to report.

New Business:   It was announced that a non-denominational
church service would be held at the campground club house at 9:30
Sunday and all were invited.

The President thanked the hosts for the weekend:  Reeves and
Lancasters

There was discussion about meals at Okeechobee.   The Chapter
will furnish food for 2 nights.  The remaining meals will be handled
on a day-by-day basis during the Samboree.

A motion was made to adjourn by Judy Stewart, seconded by
JoAnn Durrance and Gale Dreves.  The meeting was adjourned at
10:05

The winner of the 50-50 was Phylis Hager for $58.
